About us : CurlyMonkey is a woman owned and operated business located in Southern California. We strive to offer organic baby clothing and baby essentials that are eco-friendly from seed to shelf.
Our Mission: Because babies' skin is 5 times as thin as yours and their immune system is delicate, we do our best to maintain a close relationship with Nature . Our products are free from pesticides, insecticides and harmful fertilizers. All in an effort in minimizing baby's exposure to harsh chemicals commonly found in today's conventional apparel manufacturing processes. This is why we prefer renewable and biodegradable fibers such as organic cotton and hemp.

About our shirts:
It takes 25% of the world's chemical pesticides to grow conventional cotton! Our manufacturers offer the guarantee that their cotton growing, processing ( pre-treatment, washing, bleaching, dyeing, waste treatment, finishing) and dyeing is certified by Control Union ( formerly Skal of Holland) under the international GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) to be eco-friendly, with no toxic chemicals next to your baby's skin.
Hemp Facts:
Hemp has been grown at least for 12 000 years for fiber and food. It is one of the most environmentally friendly fibers in the world, requiring NO pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers and VERY LITTLE water. Hemp fibers are long, strong, super absorbent and mildew/UV resistant. It handles extreme water temperature very well and gets softer and softer with use. Fabrics made from hemp bring coolness, comfort and durability. Because of the highly porous nature of the hemp fiber, it dries extremely quickly naturally. Its natural brightness can obviate the need to use chlorine bleach which means no extremely toxic dioxin being dumped into streams.
